My "Elliot" Sweater Pattern

Its finally done. I love how this came out and will have action shots up soon.

My Super Simple Sweater pattern


PATTERN

5.5 sts per inch.
Final chest measurement = 10.5 across.
Approximate size: 18-24 months

Supplies:
Light Worsted wool yarn
Needles ~ #7: 24" and 12" or DPN's
Tapestry needle
Three buttons.

*NOTE* Increases ~ The increase BEFORE the marker is a M1F (otherwise known as M1L) and the increases AFTER the marker is a M1B (or M1R).

CO 59

Knit 3 Rows

4 ~ K10, PM, K1, PM, K7, PM, K1, PM, K20, PM, K1, PM, K7, PM, K1, PM, K11

5 ~ *Knit to before marker, M1F, slip marker, K1, slip marker, M1B *repeat for each marker, knit to end.

6 ~ (For button hole) K3, YO, K2Tog, Knit to end.
For rows where you are not making a button hole, knit to end.

7 ~ *Knit to before marker, M1F, slip marker, K1, slip marker, M1B *repeat for each marker, knit to end.

8 ~ Knit

Repeat rows 5 to 8 until there are 52 stitches between the back markers. Using row 6 to make a button hole every 12 rows.

End on a WS row.

Divide for Sleeves

Knit to 1st marker and remove, place next 38 stitches (sleeve) on scrap yarn.
CO 7 stitches, knit to next markers, remove, knit back.
At next marker, remove, place next 38 stitches on scarp yarn, CO 7, knit to end.

Continue in garter stitch for 5 more rows ending after a WS row.

Body

1 (RS) ~ K8, PM, knit to 8 sts before the end, PM, Knit to end.

2 (WS) ~ K8, Purl to marker, K8

3 ~ (RS) ~ Knit

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until stockinette stitch measures 8"

Bottom Edge

Ending after a RS row, work in garter stitch for 12 rows.

BO on a RS row.

Sleeves

Using a 12" circ, or DPNs, place one sleeve (evenly spaced, if using DPN's) on needles.

Pick up 7 sts, placing a marker before the first one.

1 ~ Knit

2 ~ Purl

Repeat row 1 and 2 for 8 rounds.

Next round ~ Knit in stockinette for 26 rows or 1" before desired length.

Then begin working in garter stitch for 8 rows.

Love the sweater. I have a 20 mo old that it wold fit perfectly! Now to find the right yarn....

As a side note, I am at exactly the same spot in my Feb Lady Sweater. Too many other projects to finish one for myself!

About how much yarn did you use?
