Going to be a busy weekend.

I think I have just about satiated everyone's taste for RFR now.

In the works is RFR on Marr Haven, Cestari and Nova for this week.

I'm also doing a bit more Birch Blossom and then this colorway will probably take a small hiatus.

I need to flex my creative side a bit.

I'm going to finish my current knit custom, stock all the colorways and yarn I can this week then start in on my custom yarn list.

On the needles is a the pair of custom shorties for Kandace's sweet boy, Jeremiah.

It is my goal to have my new spinning wheel in hand within a month. I've decided to go with the Ashford Kiwi unless something changes between now and when I raise the $$ to get it. Keep checking back for updates on my progress!

Custom Updates.

I've been in that custom knit mood again lately. These are done and the last time my blog readers will have to see a picture of them until I get action shots. But really, I'm so impressed with them. They turned out beyong my wildest imagination. I think I love them. Valerie...if your reading this, I MUST HAVE ACTION SHOTS!!!!!!!!!

These are for a dear dear friend who has been waiting so patiently for her turn on my customs list. These are in the works and I am so anxious to get to the colorway!!!

The second to last time I'll post pics of these shorts

Of course, I can't get enough of how cute these are, so you get photos every step of the way. These are completed, but pre-blocked. The pocket was given short rows, so little boys could hide treasures in side ;)

This is a custom yarn and knit slot for a friend. Waiting to hear back on it...

The neverending updates...

These are just missing a drawstring.

Almost done!

Not my greatest picture of all time. But alas, they are too big for the train table.
I decided to do a very small garter stitch cuff on these. And I really love it. I think it was the perfect decision. Tonight I knit the pocket, tomorrow assemble and block. They should mail out by Wednesday, mother earth willing!

one leg almost done

But its Murphy's Law that as soon as you only have one row to finish that skein runs out and the other skein is already attached from where you grafted the gusset. So pull the old switch-a-roo with the needles and knit the other leg. I'm on the fence about the cuff so this is probably a blessing. I thought to do no cuff, being that that the body is so patterned. But now I'm thinking a simple reverse stockinette or garter stitch would be nice to give some defintion. But only two, maybe three rows.

I'll experiement.

half of a RFR set

yes yes. can it truly be RFR without the orange. But ain't it purdy anyhow?

And since this is a knitting blog...

might as well post pics of other knit items, of the un-diaper cover variety.

My February Lady Sweater as found on Ravelry. A friend showed off hers, and once I saw it, knew it must be mine.

And this is my version of the Clapotis with less increase rows, same amount of straight rows. I now regret this as I believe it is a just shy of being long enough for me to wear. But I love the yarn was dyed lovingly by Joyce of Elliebelly in her Guppy Creek colorway.

so much for knitting for my kid

Of course I jinx my self making jokes about not bothering to gauge. Of course, it came back to bite me in the tail. Of course it did. My 19" waist is a big ole 24" waist.

So, instead of frogging back these lovelies, I offered them on my cart, telling myself I would give it 24 hours then pull them down and frog them.

They didn't last 5 minutes.

Shame shame on me. But I'm so glad to get to throw these together for Valerie.

I'm glad they will get to grace the bottom of her little this summer! They didn't deserve the brutal froggy death. They just didn't.

And Valerie got to jump on a very very closed custom list. (I hope my other mama's understand. These are only two legs away from being done so it doesn't change the time line on my list at all)

Current Projects and Finished Objects

Custom Birch Blossom on BFL.

A new colorway I'm calling Upon a Summer Day first on Acacia Alpaca Merino and the second is on Indra Single Ply. They vary slightly. The bottom one was my first attempt and not exactly what I wanted. The top one, on Acacia, is how it will be sold from here on out.

And a new longies/ shorties/ capris experiment.

New capris for Elliot

Elliot, otherwise known as my daughter is getting my first spring/summer custom spot for the 2009 season!

These are being knit up on Cestari from Mosaic Moon in her Woodland Tale colorway.

I'm doing a special and fun new stitch pattern with a ruffle on the bottom.

Here they are, in the works:
