Out of Town

I'm out of town until the new year. We will be in Upstate NY with no cell phone reception unless we come out of the Adirondacks.

I won't be checking into the internet either, because, well....dial up is too slow for me. I'm THAT impatient.

See you in 2009!

Megg's Longies

This is pair #1 of a custom for a very patient lady who has been sitting on my wait list for months. Then her package "disappeared" and magically "reappeared". Thanks to the PO and their holiday mix ups! But they are finally in the works and that is something to be thankful for!

Without further ado...

i've started moving into my new blog. i DO NOT have a custom layout done yet. But the bug was-a-itchin' to get movin...so i've packed up my past blogs, imported them there, and started moving over my gadgets.

school is out for 2008!!

With all this free time, I've got lots of projects in the works. First, I've been dyeing like crazy.

This is Tis on Organic Merino. I also have this on BFL (earlier blog).

Run Fox Run on a new Merino I'm trying out. It is very cotton-esque. Feels very durable. Doesn't seem like it will pill much. A lighter to middle weight worsted.
Birch Blosson also on the same new merino.
I've also been knitting for customs. I'm doing two pairs of these in inverted colors. So the trim on this will be the body on the second pair. Both with a braided cable leg.

And of course I have to knit for my own kid. I already posted this as a FO but I needed an action shot...okay, i wanted an action shot!

in the works for 2009

SNEAK PEEK!!! These two yarns will debut in 2009! I've got some special new wool's that I've never sold before.
First is my new BFL. This is the 'Tis colorway that debuted on Black Friday. This is a darker variation. It is what I was originaly was going for but didn't achieve. The colors are so rich and vibrant. I'm in love.
Next up is the new single ply Australian merino I will be using. A super soft single ply. Perfect for newborns, mittens, hats. Anything that will sit close to the skin. This is my Emperor's New Clothes Colorway.

I'm also bringing on board a new merino and the ever popular Gaia worsted and Bulky in 2009.
I have Run Fox Run drying on the line as we speak and more in the works for this evening!

i love LOVE love this little hat

Cynthia of Plumknit is beyond talented when it comes to patterns, dyeing, knitting...the whole fiber love thing!!! This her newly released KNOX hat pattern. I'm in love. Can't wait to knit them for presents this Christmas. I have two little babies that NEED them!!

Thank you Cynthia for sharing this pattern with the world!!

I've been knitting on this on and off for...well, awhile now. Add it to the pile of half knitted socks, the body of a stuffed monkey, a blanket I started in 2004...and well, it was just another UFO collecting dust. I decided it was time to get it done before my son would no longer fit in it.

The colorways is "Caden" by Kim of Western Sky Knits
I've since finished one sleeve. I pretty much ran out of the colorway so the sleeves are being knit in Louet Riverstone merino that is a pretty exact match to the light blue.
I hope it looks okay assembled. I'm thinking I might add a fabric liner inside. But that requires sewing...and well, I don't sew.

a most gorgeous colorway...

I'm notorious for taking too many pictures and never being able to decide which I like best. So here is the custom I just recently finished. Again, this was for one of my favorite all time WAHMs, Christine of Arabesque Baby!!!

These were taken pre-blocking, when they were still fluffy from being knit.
