i know someone is waiting on these...*updated*

Finally after mutiple frogging of these pair of longies, a progress pic for the mama who is waiting so patiently! And I'm still techincally ahead of schedule. I had wanted the first pair CO by August 1st. No pooling...finally. It will be interesting to see what happens on the short rows. Hope you like them so far Chelsie...

UPDATE: So, the natural rotation of the colorway led to some pooling which was corrected when I inserted a short row. Please let me know what you think so I can continue knitting or if I need to frog and insert a short row higher up.

whats up?

so slated for this week we have:

Sunday/Monday: Since black dye arrived FINALLY from KnitPicks (may I take a minute to bemoan their utter lack of timeliness and customer service...) after a long delayed wait, I will be working on the black and trim for an ever so patient Stephanie of VinhThi Designs. I am also working diligently on the 10 ounces of Fish in Bags for the friday stocking on iCrave.

Tuesday: Knitting my little heart out to finish the soaker I promised for the collab also this friday. On tuesday, a custom spot goes up.

Wednesday: Frantically knitting for my son. A pair of shorts in case you were wondering.

Thursday: Who knows...finishing knitting for the collab? Knitting for my own child?

Friday: Absolutly Nothing!

the dye is up

it seems never ending. the heat in my downstairs is overcoming my will to dye. on a day that taps out my ability at well over 100 degrees (humidity not included...) here i sit still...yarn soaking on the stove, at just under 180, my downstairs fan unable to keep up, the sweat beeds rolling down my back..here i sit.

First up is a completed Fish in Bags on Cestari Fine Merino for this weeks upcoming "goldfish" stocking. If you need to know more about what a "goldfish stocking" is this link will fill you in on the details....

Then interlock. Oh how i despise thee...never never again will I dye interlock that is already sewn into a garment. For starters, it make be next to impossible to make it even. Although, I must admit this is the closest anyone has come before me **insert stupid laught here...**

This is for a FANTASTIC sweet mama who sent me a yarn and a list of my colorways that she liked and said "SURPISE ME" I mean really, who doesn't love a good suprise? So, Mint Choco it was...other possibilities included Fish in Bags (which I am over due to the dyeing for the upcoming stocking), Mocha Mocha Latte (AKA: Warmth), Run Fox Run, and Elements...

it FINALLY came

two weeks later...

Winter customs coming soon....

My first slot will be offered up this coming week at a suprise time. The other two will go live on July 25th at noon. Watch out!

taking a minute in awe of other WAHM's

I wanted to take a minute and share my two latest FAVORITE purchases from WAHM's on HyenaCart.

First up is THE MOST PERFECT pin cushion in the whole world. I don't even sew and I had to have this.
This was purchased from Oceanna on Zakka Crafts. I'm beyond in love with and althought it won't get a ton of use, it will be adored always.

Second is my yarn bowl from a local potter, Dancing Dolphin Pottery. It is beautifully handmade and perfect for knitting. She also has her own HyenaCart and can be found on my congo.

cargo pocket added

these shipped today. cargo pocket and all!

i'm ready to be admitted...

I have a problem. I need a 12 step program for cloth diaper addicts. But look at her. Isn't she stunning in her Apple Bottom Baby? I have to finally admit that knitting for others and dyeing yarn has led me into a cloth diapering addiciton I didn't know I had in me. Cute fitteds weren't a priority with a little boy. The prints were only ever "eh..." We don't do puppies and sports. But with a girl, oh a girl, the repressed girliness in my own pschye is released into euphoria... Edited to add this picture...all but the one on her bum!

don't be fooled. this is only 8 diapers...8 of 23. We have five more Mutt's on the way. For those who have no idea what a Mutt is...click HERE

I also have 2 more Dunk-N-Fluff customs on the way. 1 Wild Child Woolies cover coming as well. And one pair of harper longies for the winter. I've got a problem that I'm okay with having.

the never ending horizon...

A big thank you to Chrissy who asked me to recreate a OOAK colorway that I was determined not to repeat. I must admit that I really really LOVE the way these colors go with one another. So serene...so lovely. I've dubbed them "beach." Plain and simple. They remind me of the line between land and water, water and sky. The never ending horizon...the colors of nature...

With a garter stitch cuff...

They are also getting a cargo pocket for all of her little man's treasures.

the monday report

STILL awaiting black dye (along with other colors...) from KnitPicks.

Kim's custom suprise colorway. I've dubbed it "rainforest" although. I may do a darker version and increase the yellow to a golden color and make it the more dominant color and call it "yellow brick road." Its what keeps coming to mind. The collab for Katie of Ewe Need It to be listed on Peanutbutter and Ellie.
You can read all about Katie's family and the auctions here.

This is my latest custom for Chrissy. Planning on finishing the rise on these tonight and splitting for the leg tomorrow.
