Another Successful Stocking

Thank you to all the mama's who thought of me today on HyenaCart.

All but one of my yarns sold out right away. And that is a success in my book! And the one that didn't sell, oh well. I can make something for Elliot with it, right? At least I think its pretty!

run fox run!

i almost named this one Shag Rug. It reminds me of this carpet in my grandmothers house straight from the 1970's. But I love it. I thought Run Fox Run was a tad bit more child friendly, if you will!

Hyena Cart description:
Run Fox Run!!! Through the forest you see zipping past streaks of orange, shades of brown! Run Fox Run!!!This fun yarn is perfect for your little one! In only two colors, brown and orange, but three shades of each. Dyed to match that dashing fox they might meet as they romp through the forest on a beautiful afternoon (in real life or just their imagination...)Dyed with professional lightfast and colorfast dyes on Blackberry Ridge 2ply Merino, this yarn is soft and plush, perfect for any project.

spring fling colorway

yes, another spring inspired colorway. kettle-dyed in purples, oranges, yellows, browns and a hint, just a hint of suprise pink in a spot or two.

one cranky customer!

i must say i was a little shocked when Amy of Crankypants contacted me about a colorway! shocked but SOOOOOOOOO excited.

here are the preliminary pictures of "emperor's new clothes" on BBR. matching trim to come.
the problem with this colorway is when i first created it it was a fly by the seat of my pants type of project. i'm not a huge fan of writing down recipes and recreating the same thing over and over. thats equivocal, in my mind, to an artist writing down their brush strokes. i prefer to "try" and recreate similar colorways. thing is i've NEVER been able to get purple like that again. its a trade off i guess.

Two New Colorways coming soon

Wildflower is done and awaiting picture upload. Dogwood is drying as we speak. Both are girly colorways.

Look out!

Next hyena stocking is on March 28th at noon.

We are in the process of transitioning to a congo and adding new vendors.

custom's list

I'm taking on VERY limited customs at the moment while I am still in school. Please contact me for more information. Its highly unlikely I will commit to a new custom until I've started the one before. But I will institute a waiting list of sorts with no turn around time guarantee until after the first week of May.

List:
Kimi: Shorties. Started leg one 3/19
Shadow: Shorties

two more new yarn colorways

This first one isn't exactly "new" but it looks different because i dyed it on purewool and not peruvian. its very interesting how different yarns take color soooo differently. there is a comparison shot at the bottom. The purewool was dyed with almost 1.5 times the dye and i still didn't get it quite as bright/dark as the peruvian. but in all honesty, i like it better on the purewool.

Emperor's New Clothes on PureWool Merino:

Purewool is on the left, peruvian on the right:
This is a custom colorway called "Elements" on Purewool.

my first stocking!

thank you to everyone who made the first mini-stocking of iCrave such a success! everything was sold out in a matter of minutes. i was, for one, in shock!

pictures of everything, from left to right:
1. raz-berry riot on purewool merino
2. emperor's new clothes on peruvian
3. parimala on purewool
4. the fox and the owl on purewool
5. arizona midnights on peruvian *seconds*
6. strawberry wine on peruvian
7. almost spring on peruvian
8. agate on purewool

I've since ordered 13 skeins of Black-Berry Ridge 2-ply merino. It arrived today and is rather delicious. I'll start dyeing soon. Some of the colorways for my next stocking will be repeats of this stocking and some will be new. Keep your eyes peeled!

the fox and the owl.

this colorway is kettle-dyed with Jaquard acid dyes on 100PureWool Merino in orange, yellow, brown and green. inspired by the adorable line of clothing displaying owls and foxes by Gymboree. I'll shoot pics of the matching shirts in the morning.
